Kami
The creator of the dragonballs. To become Kami Sama, earth's guard, Kami had to be 100% pure of heart. So, he had to split himself into two beings, the good one, which remained as Kami, and a bad one, named Piccolo. So, if either one of this two beings die, the other one will automatically loose life, too. And if Kami dies, the dragonballs loose their powers, and become mere rocks.
Yajirobe
Yajirobe- This coward fat guy, which handles a sword, is not much of a hero, but he even gets to save the day in the Vejita Saga. There's not much to say about this one, since he is not very frecuently named in dragon ball.

King Kaio
Kaio Sama is the responsible for Goku's last training, and is the creator of the Kaio-Ken, a technique which help the user to increase his strengh and speed. He lives somewhere in heaven in a small planet in which gravity is increased ten times. This helps with Goku's training, because once he gets back on earth he moves a lot more easily. Kaio Sama also created the Genki Dama, which consists in gathering energy from every living being on earth into one sphere, which is used against the user's enemy. Kaio Sama lives with a grasshoper .

Master Roshi
An ancient and wise master of martial arts, Roshi has accumulated great power and knowledge. He is very old, completely bald and has a long, white beard. Because he has lived for countless years on a deserted island with only a turtle for a companion, he is also called the "Hermit Turtle". His home, the Kame house, continues to serve as a gathering place for the good guys.  Although he may appear strange, frail and harmless, Master Roshi is indeed a great warrior. He originally trained Goku and Krillin when they were young boys and taught them the "Kamehameha", a power which is channeled through the hands, creating a wave of tremendous power that can destroy mountains. The first earthling to ever understand how to nurture and control the Power of Light, Roshi trained Goku and Krillin in its use.  Master Roshi also trained Ox-King (Chi-Chi's dad) and Grandpa Gohan (Goku's adoptive grandfather) years ago.

Bulma
In Dragon Ball, she was a mixed up teenager with blue hair, a pink outfit, and a personality quirk that wouldn't allow her to shut up for a second. She was immature, emotional, self-centered, impatient, argumentative, boy-crazy and given to fits of hysteria. Now, she's blossomed into a woman with a lot of the same personality quirks, but the team would never get along with out her. Bulma is a mechanical genius who can operate and fix anything. She is the one that discovers the capabilities of the Saiyan Scouter and enhances it for their own use. It enables her to save the day more than once. She also takes the lead in finding a space ship to go to Namek and joins Krillin and Gohan in the journey.

Baba
Short and squat, she uses her crystal ball to see into the future, or to see what is happening in the present in other locations. When the television coverage of the Saiyan fight is interrupted, Master Roshi, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Ox-King and Oolong gather around her ball to see how their friends and loved ones are faring.

Pwar
Pwar and Yamcha  met Goku and Bulma together in the first series, Dragon Ball. Pwar is a shape-shifting blue cat who went to the same school as Oolong. Unlike Oolong, Pwar can shift shapes without having to stop and rest every few minutes.

Oolong
Oolong is a cowardly shape-shifting pig that joined forces with the good guys. He can only change shape for a short period of time and then has to rest. Oolong played a much bigger role in the first series, Dragon Ball.

Mr. Popo
Mr. Popo is the servant of Kami. He has been on Earth longer than the present Kami, and will remain to be guardian for the next Kami. He helps Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan get to Namek by showing Bulma the location of Kami's old ship.

Korin
Korin is a wise martial arts master that lives in "Korin's Tower" and is a cat. Korin grows the magic Senzu beans that often help the Z Fighters in battle. The beans heal and energize anyone that eats them.

Guru
The eldest of all Nameks, Guru created the Dragon Balls on the planet Namek. He is also father to all of the Nameks, as Nameks are unisex and are hatched from eggs. The Dragon Balls will disappear when he dies, and there is much concern because he is very elderly and very sick. He has considerable power and wisdom, although he is not physically strong enough to fight for himself. Among his many abilities is a technique which he uses to bring forth the dormant, secret power lying within Krillin and Gohan. Guru also bestows upon Dende the ability to heal wounds by touching the injured.

Dende
Dende is a child from the planet Namek, and is even younger than Gohan. Gohan and Krillin first meet Dende on their trip to the planet Namek to gather the Dragon Balls. His family was assaulted in battle by Frieza's henchmen. Since that time, Dende has been watched over by Krillin and Gohan. With the healing powers the eldest Namek, Guru, bestows on him, Dende becomes an important asset to the Z fighters. On Namek, he saves both Krillin and Vegeta from death. Dende later replaces Kami as the guardian of the Dragon Balls on Earth.

Chi-Chi
A beautiful girl who Goku saves when they are young, Chi-Chi grows up to become Goku's wife and the mother of his son Gohan. Chi-Chi is a loving wife and a patient, doting mother, but she believes their son should develop his brain instead of his brawn. This sometimes brings her in direct conflict with Goku and his friends who put a high value on fighting skills. But that doesn't mean that she can't take care of herself. Her father, the great warrior Ox-King, who trained under Master Roshi with Goku's adoptive grandfather, wanted to make sure to bring up a daughter who could take care of herself. So he molded her into a formidable fighter who can defend her loved ones against the forces of darkness.

Dr. Brief
Dr. Brief is Bulma's dad and president of Capsule Corp. Capsule Corp makes the capsules Bulma often uses that turn into large objects like cars. His technical genius also reveals why Bulma is so handy with machines. Dr. Brief repairs the spaceships so that Goku and the others can go to Namek. Bulma's mom also makes an occasional appearance, but we never find out her name.

Mister Satan
World wide known Professional wrestler. He's used most of the times as comic relief and not as a hero (though he is fairly strong - for normal human standards); despite the occasional, non intentional, brave act, he is, in reality, a coward with a big ego. He entered in the Cell Game claiming himself the greatest hero of the world , but as soon as he started to fight with Cell, Cell threw him out of the ring. He rapidly excused himself saying that he had slipped. All the lights and blasts masked Cell's death at the hands of Gohan. Satan noticing this and took the opportunity to tell everyone that he had stepped in and killed Cell, so to the world Mr. Satan was the saviour of humanity.
He also entered the fight against Majin Buu, really helping SonGokuu , when the hero requested the energy of the human population so he could make a giant Genki Dama (this is a large energy ball made from the energy gathered from nature, humans, and the whole world... - to give energy you have to stretch your arm; this technique takes a long while until it's completely formed); Satan demanded the Earth population to raise their hands and give energy. As soon has they recognised Satan's voice, all of them helped. After True Buu's death, Mr. Satan was considered world saviour and hero, being acclaimed internationally; Mr. Satan finally got back to his normal life of drinking and reading magazines, this time sharing his house with Majin Buu, now called Mr. Buu.

Beederu
(A.k.a: Videl, if you invert Videl the name spells devil, which is suitable since Mr. Satan could only have a devil as a daughter!), daughter of Mr. Satan, she is Gohan classmate. After a while she uncovers Gohan as the Great saiyaman (which isn't very difficult, since Gohan always talks with the same voice), she then bribes him into entering the Tenkaichi Budoukai, threatening that if he refused, she would tell the whole school about his secret identity; she would also like him to teach her to fly. After the Majin Buu saga, she and Gohan settle down, having together a daughter named Pan.

Marron
#18 and Krilin's daughter. She does not have any special role in the series. In fact, she is only named at the very end of the series.
